Marin County DUI Checkpoint and Saturation Patrols this Memorial Day Weekend

The Marin County DUI task force, Avoid the 13, will be holding a Drunk Driving and driver’s license checkpoint and conducing DUI saturation patrols throughout the county this Memorial Day weekend.  Marin County police officers will be targeting drunk or drugged drivers over the Holiday.

The DUI Task Force will conduct a checkpoint on Friday, May 27, 2016, in Novato and will send out roving saturation patrols throughout Marin County from Friday, May 27, 2016, through Monday, May 30th.  Also, the California Highway Patrol will be deploying all available officers over the Memorial Day Holiday as part of their Maximum Enforcement Period.

Police departments throughout California believe that DUI Checkpoints, along with regularly scheduled high visibility DUI enforcement, are proven strategies with the goal of removing drunk drivers from our highways. In Marin County, the Marin Avoid the 13 multi agency DUI task force, and Police Departments throughout the San Francisco Bay Area hold DUI checkpoints and conduct roving patrols to deter DUI drivers and to keep unlicensed drivers off the streets.
