Sonoma County DUI Enforcement Warrant Sweep

On Saturday, August 27, 2016, Sonoma County law enforcement officers knocked on the doors of 92 people with outstanding DUI warrants.  Police officers acting on a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration contacted violators throughout Sonoma County.  Of those 92 people contacted the police cited or arrested 12 and they now face the potential of jail time because they either failed to appear in court or violated their probation.

If a person is convicted of a DUI in Sonoma County they could be placed on probation with terms that they serve jail tie, pay fines and possibly that they not consume or possess alcohol.  In addition, any DUI arrest can result in the administrative suspicion of a drivers privilege to drive by the California DMV.
