Super Bowl Weekend DUI Enforcement in Marin County

The Marin Avoid the 13 had an increased DUI presence during Super Bowl weekend. A drunk driving checkpoint was schedule in Rafael on Saturday night starting at 6:00 p.m. and was set to end on Super Bowl Sunday morning at 2:00 a.m.

Police agencies participating in the Avoid the 13 campaign included the San Rafael, Belvedere, Central Marin, Fairfax, Marin Community College, Mill Valley, Novato, Ross, Tiburon and Sausalito Police Departments. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office, and officers from the CHP also took part in the task force.

DUI and suspended driver’s license checkpoints are commonplace in Marin County. The multi agency task force routinely increases patrols and conducts checkpoints during holiday weekends and on traditional celebration dates like the Super Bowl
